The 6th annual Touch a Truck is a unique, interactive, one-day event which allows children to see, touch, and explore their favorite big trucks and vehicles as well as to meet the personnel who protect, serve, and build the Richmond community. Vehicles on display routinely include construction trucks, emergency responders, tractor trailers, utility trucks and helicopters. The event also features area mascots, special performances, snack bars, face painting, inflatables, games, crafts and a bazaar of local vendors.

Great baby accessories and so much more. All their stuff is in great shape and their prices are unbelievable. I like to buy toys for Christmas. I just stash them away in the closet, you have no idea how much I save. It's nice that he is at that age that he doesn't know that it's not new from the store, it's just new to him. Plus this year I have a little girl to buy for! Go prepared with a list and Bags, they do have little baskets but they go fast and they really don't hold a lot.

Glen Allen Day This Saturday

Glen Allen Day is this Saturday from 9:30am-4pm at Meadow Farm Museum/Crump Park.
The festivities kick off with the Glen Allen Day Parade at 9:30 a.m. on Mountain Road. Our Count Down to School Apple Tree

I know this is too late of an idea for this year, but I still wanted to share it with you.

My son is starting preschool this year and I wanted to get him excited about going so one way I did this was by making a Count Down to School apple tree. I got the idea from Richmond Parents Monthly Magazine. Every day until the first day of school he takes an apple off the tree and puts it in the basket. The number on the apple in the basket is the number of days he has left to go. He is starting this Tuesday so we started the apple tree this past Monday. He had a fun time helping mommy make the tree and every morning picking the correct numbered apple from the tree.

My Consignment Buys

What I won't do for a bargain! Last Saturday even though Irene was well on her way I set out to the Tickles & Giggles half price consignment sale. I got a lot of girls clothes (as you can see) I needed one piece outfits for when she starts to crawl and pajamas. Every item I got for my daughter was $1.00 or less with the exception of her ladybug Halloween costume which was $2.00. She is going to look so cute in it!

For my son I didn't find too much. I was able to get some jeans and a few shirts. The best deal I got was a Ralph Lauren dark blue jacket for $4.00.

Isn't that nice? He is going to look so handsome and he is going to be able to wear it in the fall and spring.

If you went out and bought at Tickles & Giggles I hope you did as good as I. And if you bought any little boys clothes, I thank you. I did really well with my sales.

Target has kids shoes on clearance for 75% off. I was able to get my son some great sandals for next year for only $4.00 each. And my daughter a pair for only $2.00. They also have clothes on clearance but I never took a look. All kiddie pools and summer outdoor toys are also on great clearance.

Babies R Us has all summer clothes on clearance for $5.00 and a few items priced below that. When I was there on Saturday they had a huge selection.
