I know this is too late of an idea for this year, but I still wanted to share it with you.
My son is starting preschool this year and I wanted to get him excited about going so one way I did this was by making a Count Down to School apple tree. I got the idea from Richmond Parents Monthly Magazine. Every day until the first day of school he takes an apple off the tree and puts it in the basket. The number on the apple in the basket is the number of days he has left to go. He is starting this Tuesday so we started the apple tree this past Monday. He had a fun time helping mommy make the tree and every morning picking the correct numbered apple from the tree.
